Did you have a reason to go to 9.2.2? Most of my older OSX Macs have 9.1 so that I can move the drives between Macs without a problem. I have not found 9.2 to have special features that I need. I only use 9.2 and higher on Macs that have to have it.

I haven't had much experience with the 8500/8600 models. Although I have have AV on everything from a 6100 I have never used it ( kind of a waste); so I don't realy know of their problems. I have a beiege G3 with the Wings card and I don't think I have even played a audio CD in the G3. I do graphic work on a MDD 867 and the G3 is my OS9 box. I use a 7600/G3 as a print sever and to run SCSI scanners. I usualy do music on the MDD or a B&W G3. I have never done any movies or audio work but I would like to at some time.

on any of my machines since I began using OSX. An 8600 ("unsupported") with built in AV and a Rage 128 card , and 2 beige G3's (supported) with "wings" cards. I think it was on Xlr8yourmac.com where I read that "it doesn't look like they [the "wings" audio/video inputs] will ever be supported in OSX". Now that I think about it, the 8600 lost it's av input abilities when I used os9helper to upgrade to 9.2.2. I spent a good deal of time trying to resolve it (several months) and finally gave up. And then there was the audio stuttering problem on some of the older machines with ATA cards that was suppose to get fixed by DL'ing a file (from the sonnet site?) that slowed the bus rate or something...
