The PowerLogix Cache Control still works fine in 10.3, and I used it because for some reason the previous XPF cache control only enable mine at a 4:1 ratio instead of 2:1, which in the PowerLogix is adjustable. Unfortunately one of the neat features of the PowerLogix doesn't seem to work in 10.3, that's the 'fixing' of Apple System Profiler. My Apple System Profiler says 'no information' for SCSI bus, and PowerPC 60? (2.9) for CPU Type. On the other hand, the FireWire bus gives great information on every device, even a flakey external 2.5" HD that won't mount on any Macintosh. That valuable info might enable me to find updated firmware to fix this useless enclosure?
To me everything seems much quicker than 10.2. Quartz Extreme works after reinstalling PCI Extreme. Everything else seem normal or quicker. So far, so good.
I will be transferring over to a Firewire booting System soon, so I'll report on that also. If anyone has experience with OS X and RAID software, perhaps SoftRaid, I'd like to hear about it on a new thread or e-mail. I played some with the OS X Disk Utility RAID and the lack of partitioning really makes it useless to me. Kris Tilford
