Well, yeah, and in this case you lose your mouse freexeing up every 30 seconds. Or in my case, random system lock-ups.Turn off QE. QE on a pci video card only adds a few percent performance improvement at best, and at worst causes problems like you're describing.
Of course you lose the OpenGL-enhanced transitions if you turn off QE.
An acceptable tradeoff in my opinion...
