Tried Panther on a second 7500 with more problems. This one has a Newer G3 300/150 and 416 MB with an adapted 18 GB LVD drive on the 50-pin motherboard SCSI. Big problems trying to install 10.3. After hours & hours of troubleshooting, it appears that XPF 3.0a9 or 10.3 installation disk doesn't work correctly with the stock SCSI CD-ROM unit or any of the three other SCSI units I have.
I installed 10.3 using XPF 3.0a9 on my 7500 using the stock SCSI 4X CD-ROM that came with the machine when I bought it in '95. No problems whatsoever.
