Here's four easy patches that will fix this and prevent any further attacks along these lines. * Turn off automatic unpacking of archives in Safari. * Stop using Finder as the helper application for FTP. * Turn off automatic mounting of disk images in Safari and Stuffit Expander. * Turn off automatic launching of installers in Safari and Stuffit Expander. I predict Apple will do something stupid to try and cripple Finder's behaviour instead of addressing the fundamental problem. If it's good enough for Microsoft, it's good enough for Apple. The reaction that I've seen to this on this list tells me that people will even applaud Apple for their stupidity. God, I hope I'm being too cynical. Please, Apple, prove me wrong. -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
