I'm waiting for XPF 3.0 to go final, I've quit trying each new beta hoping to get Panther on my Beige G3.
I would guess most everyone who's going to try Panther on an unsupported machine already has, and it worked and they're waiting for Tiger, or it didn't and they're just waiting.
This is pretty much it.

Beige G4/466 OS 10.3.4 - my home machine Beige G3/500 OS 10.3.4 - Mom's home machine Wallstreet G3/300 OS 10.3.4 - Mom's laptop PMac 7600 G3/500 OS 10.3.5 - Backup/file server w/2 x 120 GB HDs
