I purchased a retail copy of BeOs 5.0 at Frys before they stopped selling thrm.and the 5.03 update was downloaded from Be's ftp site before it tanked. Gobe Software packaged 5.03 Pro, Gobe Productive 2.0 and the BeOS Bible in a set for around $50-60. Both PPC and x86 binaries were included.

Version 5 Pro was to be the last PPC version. Version 6.0 which was stillborn was going to be x86 only. There is a lot of stuff relating to the BeBox and Be on PPC at The BeBox Zone www.bebox.nu . It's kind of quiet these days but people still check in to see if anyone has posted anything new.

It was my understanding that Be OS 4.5 was the latest for PPC, where did you happen to find 5.0.3 for PPC?

BeOS would be a good choice to load on the 9600 with
dual cpus. I run
BeOS 5.03 Pro on my Daystar Genesis MP800+.
