<Date> <Time> localhost lookupd[###]: NetInfo connection failed for server 127.0.0.1/local
where<Date>&<Time> are the actual date and time of the failure to connect, and ### is one of these #'s:
118, 119, 126, 220, 221, 224, 226, 228, 247 & 254.
There a quite a few of these messages, and a Google search of "NetInfo connection failed to server 127.0.0.1/local" returned a person with OS X 10.0 complaining about spinning beach balls for long periods. This seems like these could be corresponding to these long spinning beach balls I've been experiencing on multiple computers.
There are also some Safari errors in the Safari log that might be causing delays since the 10.3.6. They mention something about a GIF converter not functioning, and something to do with font substitutions not working. Both seem likely to cause delay, and both began after the 10.3.6 update (after Nov.5th).
I've repaired permissions & reinstalled the full Combo 10.3.6 update hoping to solve these, but no joy. Any ideas to fix these presumed causes of System slowdown other than reinstall and update to 10.3.5?
Thanks! Kris
(If you want to check your System logs, open utility Console>Logs and go the /var/log > netinfo or ~/Library/Logs>Safari or just the system.log or console.log might have something. Look for problems beginning AFTER the date that you updated to 10.3.6)
