greetings,
first, i apologize for asking questions that have probably been answered 100 times already.
i am finally being forced to upgrade to OSX to use the latest version of an application. heard many horror stories, mostly from when OSX was first released, about installation on "unsupported" boxes. i need to get to OS 10.2 as a minimum, but i think i would rather go to Panther, if possible. here's the hardware i have.
the box is a UMAX S900 (gotta love 'em) with the following modifications:
processor: [EMAIL PROTECTED] G4/400/200 Joecard, but i'm using the Powerlogix G3/G4 Cache Profiler (ver. 1.3) instead of the software supplied by metabox.
the video card is the original IX Micro Twin Turbo 128 (8MB VRAM).
i've removed the E-100 SCSI / ethernet card and replaced it with an Adaptec 2940U2B controller.
i've removed the original 2GB HD and replaced it with a Quantum Atlas V 9GB LVD SCSI drive.
i've added a USB 1.1 card, a firewire card, an Audiophile 24/96 A/D audio card, and a USB 2.0 card.
i think that's everything. now, has anybody done an OSX install on a "similar" system? does anybody see any for sure conflicts with any of the hardware i've mentioned? is it worth it? or should i just buy a new apple and be done with it?
