Can anyone tell me how to use an external Firewire DVDRW to simply play a commercial pre-recorded DVD?

I have Radeon cards (7000 Mac & 9100 PC flashed) that have the DVD hardware.

I've used PatchBurn II 3.0b9 to add support in Finder, Disk Utility & iDVD for burning, but that doesn't help play.

I've got Apple DVD Player v.4.0 and tried some patches that supposedly worked on v.3.0, but they didn't work. I've got Toast Titanium but get an error -5000 can't access permissions, plus the "play" is never highlighted, it's always dimmed.

I've got VLC player which some say will play the files on the DVD, but so far I can't get it to play.

What do I need?

Kris
