care if they turn into broccoli the first time you do system or disk sleep.
. . . yes, I tend to forget about sleep issues since all my systems are set to "never" for all sleep functions. In attempting to troubleshoot some of these sleep issues in the past I've seen plenty of indication that sleep isn't only an unsupported issue, but effects many supported new world machines with nearly as bad symptoms. For those using unsupported machines and having problems with disk corruption my two 'must do' items of advise are:
1) If you're using the onboard internal SCSI bus (MESH), switch the cable on the motherboard over to the empty socket right beside where it's now plugged to use the external SCSI bus instead. The external bus has no corruption issues, whereas the MESH does corrupt drives for certain. This will also help installer CD's attempting to boot from SCSI CD-ROM units.
2) Set your System to "never" for all sleep functions in the Energy Saver control panel.
These two will solidify almost any flakey System so that disk corruption will hopefully be a thing you never deal with again.
