I have a very similar model (w/12GB HD & 384 MB
RAM) running 10.3.9 and it works well. Runs
Safari, MS Office, Acrobat Pro, Photoshop just
fine. As it is similar to a Beige G3/300 (which
I have running as a 10.4.1 file & calendar
server), it does a good job as a general use Mac.
It is just as stable as any of my other Macs
under a heavy load.
Anyone who would use a $1000 video editing
program on a 6.5 year old $2-300 laptop is using
questionable judgement. That money would be
better spent on a new iBook w/iMovie HD or iDVD.

And what exactly can it do beyond simply running the OS?
Hos stable is it under heavy load?
How fast can it run a 3D raytracer or Final Cut?

Subject: Tiger success on PDQ G3 PowerBook
I'm typing this on my 300 MHz/320 MB/20 GB PDQ PowerBook, runing Tiger
10.4.2. It's been a bit of a battle using XPostFacto 4.0b5 so I
thought I should describe what I did and what the problems are in case
they can be fixed in a later versionĀ
