Well ... some success. I wouldn't recommend trying it though ... it may
work, and may not. Seems to be working relatively well in my PPC 9500.
I just wish I could Install the newer versions of the drivers, so it
might take care of the version I'm using's sensitivity to iTunes and
ATA PCI card activity ... the ATA card, which I removed since it didn't
fly.
I added an ATTO SCSI PSC card and a fast Seagate SCA type drive and am
experimenting with using that as my other PCI bus "Master" card.
Someone told me that of the 6 PCI slots on the PPC 9500, A1 and D2 are
bus Master slots, so I'm trying my M-Audio card in A1 and my ATTO SCSI
PSC card in D2. So far ok ... as long as I remove the internal extra
SCSI HD, which I now only use as a terminator for the CDROM and
internal SCSI bus.

A faster bus Mac is probably the answer to my problem with it, as I've
read it is latency that is the main problem with audio cards ... I
believe this is directly related to bus speed.
Any way ... I use Ableton's Live software for recording and mixing my
sounds ... as when I'm not playing with old Macs, I play with my
flugelhorn and piano, and like to have variable speed accompaniments
for practice. I also use Sibelius to playback scores for music I do not
have accompaniments recorded for.
Really need a faster bus, and faster cpu Mac ... this 50MHz bus, PPC
9500 Sonnet G3/500 is nice ..., but I need a 1GHz and better ...
