Those were things I had problems with, because of the latest Software
Update recommended for my Panther 10.3.9.
I also successfully demoted Quicktime, but I left iTunes at 6.0.2 on my
8500. Things are running fine.
There are several topics on Safari not starting up in the Apple
Discussion group under Safari. I searched on "dock icon not bounce"
(without the " "), and got a number of responses.
I currently don't have any personal experiences with this one ... so
may I suggest the Search at apple.com?
Let us know how you're making out ...

The latest Software update of iTunes and Quicktime may be involved.
Quicktime 7.0.4 may be the culprit. Did you recently do the

I demoted Quicktime clear back to 6.x or something with the d/l s you
suggested.
No joy. How to unload/reload iTunes? por favor?
