As many pastors in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod face difficult times for
various reasons, you may sometimes feel that it is happening to some pastor
“out there”, so what can I do about it?A pastor has come to our attention who
has faithfully served in the holy ministry, yet has been given some medical
burdens to carry. He has suffered from a number of serious ailments. His
kidneys at one time suffered from near-failure. In October, his gall bladder
was removed, followed by a rough recuperation. A urinary tract infection got
into his bloodstream, requiring some very potent antibodies. For the future,
he is facing some difficult and expensive dental surgery.Although he has
soldiered through all these difficulties, there is still the enduring problem
of medical bills. Most bills are small, but add up. One hospital bill alone
totals $11,000. With some bills still to come in, it is hard to nail down an
exact total at this point. It is probably about 20 to 30 thousand. He is
valiantly trying to pay back bills. However, his resources are very limited,
serving a very small parish that is unable to afford a full salary or benefits,
and this burden could weigh him and his family down for years and years to
come.Through the Augustana Ministerium, YOU have the opportunity to help this
servant of Christ in need. If you are able, please consider sending a donation
in one of the following ways:1) If you use PayPal, send a donation to
[email protected] and include a memo that it is for "dental surgery".2) If
you want to use a debit or credit card, go tohttp://augustanaministerium.organd
click on a ‘Donate’ button. (Just click normally; don’t try to open it in a new
tab or page, or it will open the wrong page.) This will take you to a PayPal
page, where they will offer to set up a PayPalaccount, etc., but you don’t have
to do so: just enter your card info on their secure site, make sure a memo
isthere saying it is for "dental surgery", and you’re all set.3) To send a
check, put "dental surgery" in the memo line, “TAM” in the pay to line, and
send it to:If you are using PayPal, please note that there is now a box that
can be checked when making a donation that will allow an automatic donation
withdrawal every month, and consider whether you might wish to return to make
