Bubble or no bubble. It would serve us all to conduct ourselves as professionals. While this doesn't usually play on the IRC, that's a different forum. When it comes to email, it's always good to write as if your boss was reading (because he/she probably is).

After hitting send, it occurred to me that my reply may have sounded
