I met with a guy who posted a job on the php job mailing list, and he was raving about it? Ive watched the demos, and it looks like a back end development tool for a flash front end. Could be cool, but do you think promoting things like CF and FLEX are helping websites be cross platform/cross browser? Do you think flex offers more than what a good JS library could do?
I have recently been doing a bit of flex work and have really enjoyed it. Adobe's flex builder is a really nice tool. I am normally don't care for eclipse based products that much but, Adobe has done a really great job with the flex builder. I am also, really enjoying working with AS3.
On one project I just JSON encoded objects to exchange data between flex and php and it worked great.
The projects that I have done are for a small groups of users under controlled circumstances. Personally I would still use Javascript on something that is has a large audience. That is mostly because I have much more experience using Javascript with large audiences. However, I would love to hear from anyone that has deployed flex to a large audience. I am just not ready to take that leap, yet.
