Absolutely. Flash is 100% consistent between browsers and platforms.
That doesn't mean that it is the correct tool for every job however.

Yes, but, I do not believe that Flex and AJAX are brothers.
I agree with Wade and Fred. I too have recently started learning and
using Flex. It is an amazing tool. With AMFPHP and web services Flex
applications, in my opinion, are the wave of the future. Adding Flex
to your tool belt will certainly help your marketability.
