I have never accepted any freelance contract work in php before. But I have
had two offers. One for $35/hr and the other for $75/hr. I declined the
higher offer because I knew the people that would be "overseeing" the
project. Because of prior dealings with them, I swore that I would never
have any business dealings with them. I think they were desparate and hence
were willing to pay more than they normally would. Also, the project they
wanted me to "finish" was a mess. The other offer was more reasonable
because it more closely matched my php skill set at the time. I had to
decline because of time constraints.

If I were to look for php work now I would probably try to get something
closer to $50/hr.
