I am working on a project that will be accepting image uploads. We will need
to take an image, resize it to several different sizes, including: web size and
thumbnail.

Many years ago I did this kind of thing with ImageMagick. Is that still the
best tool? I noticed there is a core GD2 library in PHP these days. Is that a
decent tool?

As far as other third party stuff, I have seen:

Transloadit
http://transloadit.com/

WideImage
http://wideimage.sourceforge.net/documentation/smart-coordinates/

Transloadit looks amazing, but it costs money. :) Which is not bad, but at
the moment it is not in the project budget.

I have never heard anything about WideImage, but it looks like it could be
handy. It is based on GD2.

Regards,
Jonathan Duncan
