I'm working on porting over some of the URL/parameter processing code that was done in the sandbox and in my efforts to reproduce the existing URL processing I was looking into the random tag included in the URL, to my surprise it appears that the tag isn't used for stopping duplicate requests like I had thought and in fact is not used for anything.

Looking in the SVN change log it looks like the duplicate request checking was removed back in August 2004: http://developer.ja-sig.org/source/changelog/jasigsvn/?cs=34496

Since we haven't had the functionality for over 3 years now I'd like to just remove the random tag generation from the URL in my generation/processing work.

Thoughts?
