I've finally gotten around to testing some of the new admin functions
in the trunk. One thing I wanted to verify was that we could still get
the behavior we want with channels belonging to no category. In the
discussion on this list (about
http://www.ja-sig.org/issues/browse/UP-2499) I think Jen summarized the
behavior perfectly. However, when I go to portlet manager and remove
all categories from a portlet, the portlet manager crashes, The
channel manager used to refuse but it shouldn't crash. I can create
JIRA but wnated to check first that I am not missing something. When I use the groups manager to remove the portlet from all containing groups the task succeeds and, as expected, a user cannot add the portlet anymore but they can still see it. However, the fragment manager cannot add it either. This is consistent with current behavior in 3.1 but I had thought new changes would allow the portlet to be accessed in fragment manager. Now that I say that I'm not sure how but want to verify -can the fragment manager show channels in no category as well as those in non-punlished state? Thanks, Susan --
