Yeah, I agree that it is a very interesting concept. The folks that did the UI work in uP4 started using it as it saved them a lot of time. We looked into including scss in the build process but it wasn't straight forward, if folks really like it though we could look again at simply generating the CSS at build time from the SCSS files.

Those files are there if you would like to use scss. There is nothing in the build process that automatically builds the scss files into css files so it is your option to install a scss editor and use that to customize a skin or to just edit the css directly.
