I've had problems with nbd-proxy before. I think I'll start by concentrating 
some on this.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll try them one by one. I had come to a 
dead-end as to what else I could try to see what's going on. You've given m 
some ideas so I now have something to work on.

I'll check back in as results warrant.
