Hello! Robin's gizmo arrived yesterday. However trying to see if the program saw it on Linux causes errors. Such as I type in the name found on the listing of suggested cables, which as it happens does include its name. The program complains that it's not included in the library libusb and promptly dumps me back at the program prompt,
Does this mean that the library included with Slackware 12.1 isn't up to it? However when I plugged in the device, and then ran the command to show me the listing of who's attached to the computer via USB, I'm told that the computer does indeed know about it. However the program is the current SVN cut of 1809, which according to early discussions includes it. Oh and Robin, I'm publicly apologizing for confusing you in private. Sometimes when I send off stuff via e-mail, it, ah, reflects the way I talk sometimes, which can be quite confusing. Now later today I am going to bring a copy of the entire tree to my other system who's running Slackware 12.2 and start the whole process off that way, and see what happens. I'll know more by the afternoon, and will report then. My next step will definitely be in building the jig so I can apply the gizmo properly. I must say it is a beautiful device. Someone definitely deserves to be properly commended, and even awarded handsomely for its design. ----- Gregg C Levine [email protected] "This signature fought the Time Wars, time and again." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net email is sponsored by Sprint What will you do first with EVO, the first 4G phone?
