Cool - yes makes sense to me then ;-) Basically I think your previous message 
was correct... it's been a while since I implemented my solution, but it does 
only require some very basic functions like you mention.

Actually, the purpose of my project is to build something as generic as 
possible. The point is: if I am a novice electronic guy, and I
*sometimes* want to do some JTag, it is usually quite boring to go and buy a 
cheap jtag adapter - mostly because the delivery time is quite long and usually 
the jtag stuff to be done makes sense only if it is done within little time 
(e.g. for a weekend project). In these situations slowness of the adapter is 
not desiderable, but definitely not frustrating as abandoning the project 
because of missing components. Instead, "flashing the hypotetical 
jtag-adapter-firmware onto that Stellaris board I bought for experimenting some 
time ago"
could be a good idea - and save some lives, maybe :)
