QA Engineer with QTP, Winrunner, Silk, Rational Robot Location: Upper Saddle River, NJ Rate: Max pay is $30/HR Duration: 6 Months. Local candidates to NJ preferred, any educational experience would be a big plus! Description is as follows: Summary: As a member of the product development team and quality engineering organization for MyReadingLab, MyWritingLab, MyCompLab and English Language products, the Software Quality Assurance Engineer will participate in testing and improving the quality of leading web-based homework, tutorial and assessment products. These products are powered by the EPIC platform and serves up to 500,000 students a year at the college level. During the upcoming year, EPIC development will focus on major enhancements to the product line. The candidate will work closely with the QA lead, product managers, project managers, and content developers, and will be responsible for developing and executing test plans. This position follows Pearson’s Learning Technologies Group (LTG) standards and best practices and to coordinate integration testing where applicable. The candidate should enjoy working in a high-energy, team-based environment with plenty of challenges and growth potential. Job Responsibilities: Reviews requirements specifications. Designs and develops test plans based upon functional and design specifications. Maintains and reviews software test plans, test data and test cases. Executes software test cycles, regression testing, records results and reports defects. Analyzes reported bugs and works with software product managers, software developers, project managers, and customer support & service specialists to resolve bugs. Execute and maintain automated test scripts. Analyzes test results and recommends corrective actions. Responsible for following SDLC and software testing processes, quality assurance methodology and best practices and techniques adopted by CMG. Suggests new testing implementation mechanisms and small enhancements to QA and the product. Participates in product releases to ensure quality. Requirements: 2+ years experience in software testing and quality assurance. Experience with web-based educational product testing is a plus. Experience testing web platforms and online applications on Windows and Mac. Excellent organizational, oral and written skills. Strong understanding educational content purpose and quality standards Must be able to work collaboratively with a large team under tight deadlines with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Highly motivated and passionate about product quality and customer satisfaction. Experience working with educational software and online content and multimedia delivery is a plus. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of test automation tools (WinRunner, Quicktest, Silk, and Rational Robot). Working knowledge of RDBMS (SQL, Oracle). Sound knowledge of Windows 2000/XP and Sun Solaris 2.6/7/8.
