Position: DB2 UDB Location: IOWA Duration: 6 months Description: . The primary requirements for ILR database administration services include the ability to fulfill the following responsibilities on an as-needed basis. . Assist in the testing and installation of security fix packs as they become available . Assist in testing and implementing version migrations as necessary . Assist in periodic SQL statement monitoring and tuning . Assist in running common maintenance routines such as Reorg, Runstats, etc. . Assist in periodic adjustments of database instance configuration parameters to enhance performance, . Assist in identification and resolution of service level problems . Assist in periodic evaluation of the Backup/Recovery strategy . Assist in periodic evaluation of Disaster Recovery/High Availability strategy . Assist in maintaining system and user documentation Skills Required: . The Iowa Land Records system currently operates on a DB2 platform, but may consider migration to alternative database systems in the future . Personnel proposed for these activities should have 4+ years experience administering DB2 UDB V8 and V9 in a virtualized environment on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server OS . Experience administering other database management systems such as Oracle and MySQL is desired . The personnel for these activities will work with and under the supervision of ILR internal staff.
