*Title : Senior zOS System Software Engineer * *Duration : 6 Months * *Location : San Jose, CA* *Job Description:* Network/communications support from z/OS to various external agencies and County departments - VTAM, TCP/IP, TN3270, SFTP, and Enterprise Extender (EE) and APPN Implementation OLTP software support including product installation, upgrade, performance monitoring and tuning, problem resolution - CICS/TS, Omegamon for CICS, NetView for troubleshooting SNA network connections, AbendAid for CICS. Computer Operations Support - Console and SNA terminal definition Mainframe printing/remote printing support - MacKinney Systems, MacAfee for file transfer encryption/decryption, XMITIP, TXT2PDF We need an individual with extensive experience (10+ years) in z/OS Systems Programming & Technical Support. This person will be responsible for design, implementation, maintenance and usage of mainframe network applications and systems; perform troubleshooting and diagnostics of the network internal to the Mainframe. The contractor will be involved in the Mainframe Re-Hosting project. The contractor would be closely managed by the lead System Software Engineer and the Mainframe Re-Hosting project manager to ensure the work is performed to County’s standards.
