Role: Quality Assurance Analyst Duration: Above 6 Months Location: New Haven, CT 06511 **Only Local Candidates** Description: The QA Test Specialist will provide technical leadership and hands-on testing of products and services for a large university. This key individual will have extensive work experience establishing and executing standardized test as well as practical industry experience with HP Quality Center 10.0 or HP Application Lifecycle Management 11.52. Principal Responsibilities: • Establish and document Test Plan/Strategy for project • Working with projects at all stages to promote quality • Develop and revise Test Cases and Test Plans • Execute existing Test Cases and record defects • Manage defects throughout the testing effort • Interact with IT management and other teams at a highly professional and technical level • Provide high-quality consultation to business partners and demonstrate keen aptitude in acquiring business domain expertise • Support all test phases within the project life cycle and maintenance regression testing • Working with developers to perform root-cause analysis Required Skill/Ability: • Contributes to the strategic direction of the function. • Ability to positively manage work in a sometimes very dynamic environment with changes coming from multiple directions at once i.e.: timeline, scope of work, etc. • Ability to articulate open issues and risks in a timely manner to management. • Ability to write well-articulated test plans, test scripts • Ability to clearly document defects and follows through on resolution • Ability to rapidly build knowledge of application business area, application requirements • Excellent verbal and written skills Required Work Experience: • 5+ years of experience with Quality Assurance tools • 2+ years hands-on experience with HP Quality Center or HP ALM utilizing defect, management, test planning, and reporting modules • Nice to have: Telecommunication system experience.
