* 4+ years PowerCenter ETL

* Computer Science degree is preferable.

Work as part of a team responsible for new application development and/or
improving existing applications to meet the changing needs of our business.
Specific assignments may include application design and development, coding
for enhancements and fixes, testing, maintenance and support.

Base level of programming competency is required and may be specific to C++,
JAVA, NOTES, .Net, C#, Powerbuilder, Smalltalk, or other as identified by
the actual open position.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:  General knowledge of the securities
industry and CGC specific businesses. General knowledge of CGC specific
businesses and business processes.

Thorough knowledge of programming language(s).

Thorough knowledge of software development tools and environment(s).

General knowledge of database design and database concepts. General
knowledge of software development principles and practices.

General knowledge of application design and development.

General knowledge of application system development methodologies.

General knowledge of project/task estimation and planning.

General knowledge of software change control procedures.

Demonstrated ability to participate in all phases of application software
development.

 Demonstrated ability to evaluate user needs or specifications and translate
them in a logical and practical set of software components.

Acquires and effectively demonstrates any additional knowledge and skill
requirements as requested.

Expectations:  Maintains and consistently demonstrates a general knowledge
of company guidelines, processes, practices and procedures. Gathers user
requirements and performs systems analysis (possibly in conjunction with
business system analysts). Develops system designs to meet user requirements
(examples might include program designs, database designs, and window
designs).

Identifies and resolves issues between systems design and technical
feasibility.

Code and unit tests application programs and modules. Develops and conducts
systems tests.

Participates in the design and development of application architectures.

Prepares/moves application programs from development to production in
controlled manner. Develops documentation and other materials supporting
application programs. For routine and moderately complex production
problems, troubleshoots issues -- researching symptoms, analyzing impacts
and implementing solutions.

Determines scope and participates in establishing priorities for system
changes. Provides on-going evaluation of system functions and design and
identifies areas for improvement. Provides on-call coverage to application
programs as needed to support business operations. Prepares and distributes
status reports and other updates to users and management. Communicates
actively with users on systems status, including system changes, problems,
enhancements, and potential impacts. Actively participates in user meetings:
- Assists in preparing for meetings - Participates in meeting discussions.
Participates actively in all aspects of project management and control.
Keeps abreast of new technology through continued education and training.
Constructively contributes in team and department meetings and training
opportunities. Performs other work as required or requested as well as
additional assignments.
