Job Description:
VMware ESXi 4.1 Skill Requirements
1. Log retrieval and analysis of ESX hosts and vCenter server
2. Know how to export System logs for upload to VMware
3. Understanding the command-line for use in TSM (Tech Support Mode)
4. Managing an ESX host via the vMA (VMware Management Assistant)
5. View, configure and troubleshoot networking (vSwitches,
dvSwitches, port groups)
6. View, configure and troubleshoot storage (FC and iSCSI)
7. vMotion troubleshooting and configuration
8. Manage and troubleshoot DRS and HA Clusters
9. Modify and manage Virtual Machines
10. Deploy a VM from a template or ISO image
11. Performance monitoring and tuning of memory, CPU, storage and
networking
12. Patch Management with Update Manager
13. Setup proactive monitoring of the VMware environment.
14. Capacity planning with the Visteon supported tools.
