Job Title: DATA ARCHITECT Work Location: Woonsocket, RI Duration: 12 months Role DATA ARCHITECT Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills "• Strong RDBMS concepts • Good knowledge of application layers, modeling techniques • Hands-on experience with designing object-oriented components • Understanding of database concepts • Experience with Oracle database/Architecture • Data modeling experience with knowledge of normalization/de-normalization (preferably with CA Erwin ) • Expert in creation of conceptual/logical/physical data models. • Experience in RAC/ASM implementation for multi node architecture. • Knowledge of database tuning including table/index partitioning concepts. • Sound knowledge of replication methodologies provided by Oracle like MV, Data guard, Streams, Golden Gate, CDC etc. • Sound knowledge of PLSQL concepts mainly from query tuning perspective. (Usage of hints, best practices etc) • ETL (Data Extract/ Transform and Load) and Batch Data Processing knowledge. • Exposure to UML objects modeling concepts. • Work experience in presentation tools like excel,ppt,visio,mpp. " Roles and responsibility "• Will be involved in all aspects of the project life cycle, from the requirements analysis, design, and implementation and testing. • Design and development of separate modules based on object oriented paradigm. • Refactoring of existing module to make an extensible system. • Be the focal point for all data model related changes. • Perform SQL certification wherein and SQL change needs to be certified. • Being part of all production issues and providing inputs wherever applicable. • Perform Data model creation from scratch for newer projects.(From conceptual to physical structure) • Responsible to perform half-yearly or quarterly sanity check of production environment from db object and PSQL code perspective. • Maintaining a regular check on data replication performance issues in production. • Need to work closely with offshore team to guide them through the low level design • Need to provide consultation wherever required during development and also need to validate the code. " Desirable Technical / Functional Skills Good Communication skills, interpersonal skills and debugging skills.
