Hi Raphael,

I like to suggest a more general solution for the longterm that I have not
seen so far:

I would like to see ANYTHING happen when I hover an icon. This is a common
thing for panel icons and I don't understand why we do not provide
information and also interactivity for hover after a while.

So what I woudl expect is that if you hover an icon you get some choices
maybe also simple icons appear - so if I hover a CD symbol an eject button
appeary. I would consider this the most elegant and intuitive solution.

On a text file it could do the following: display some information about
file size and how many words and part of the text - and also display a
"Read/Open" button.

Also I löike to suggest that the cursor changes form as the mode changes -
so if you hover you get a hand for dragging an icon that becomes maybe an
(i) for information if you get information and a pointing finger if you are
about to select a menu entry.

I guess that would not be possible to do now or soon? But I would like to
see something. Maybe combine these with the pie menus:
