Maybe it's me, but has anyone else seen a change in the way that in Snow Leopard, the finder allows editing in the names, perhaps with all apps? It seems to me that the 'single click to edit' immediately translates into unwanted launches, always annoying, sometimes with *disastrous*consequences.
I've never had this problem before the last few OS updates. I've tried all kinds of changes in control panels, three different mice, including the new 'magic mouse' and am really tired of yelling at the computer. Sometimes after clicking, the text takes 2-3 seconds to go to edit mode, and even then is difficult to place the insertion point. THis is in Snow Leopard. (I am staying away from Tiger for as long as I can) In earlier times I thought there was a single-click timing adjustment. Another stupid UI thing is the positioning of the annoying "Open With" context menu item that is placed on the way to other menu items will always trap and wait to search for all the apps - if one doesn't get past that line fast enough, there's a several second wait. thanks sqb ps I have both a 'tiny ball' apple mouse and a 'magic mouse' plugged in at the same time. I have to use a wired mouse to connect because magic doesn't pair up from a cold boot. -- Stephen Barncard San Francisco Ca.
