Hey Tim,
I would make a soft-edged, white box and save it as a transparent PNG,
then import that into LC and use then use the graphic settings to make
it semi-opaque. Then place your transparent text field over the top and
position those over your photo.

Hello,
I want to display a line of text -- in a field, over a photo. The loc of the
field will scroll down. I want the text to be as legible as possible, but the
photo will vary. I'm wondering about the best way to make the text legible.
What do you suggest?
--A black font with a white outline? Or white font with a black outline? Can
someone recommend such a font?
--Maybe a field with a semi-transparent white background? If this is
recommended, I can't quite figure out how to set the background of a field to a
semi-transparent color. A fuzzy edge around such a background would be even
better. Suggestions?
