FWIW, if you're using a distro with Nautilus (comes with Ubuntu and
others), the "Connect to Server..." option works very well with SSH by
just entering:
ssh://<user>@<domainOrIPAddress>
I've added shortcuts in Nautilis' sidebar for the servers I use often,
and now I have ulta-convenient file access with all the security of SSH,
smoothly integrated with the desktop.
