Statement should call "ClientSocketOpen" if the Server accepted the connection or call "socketError" or "socketTimeout" if there was an error? e.g. the Server closed the socket?

FWIW, I'm finding the whole "state of sockets" to be a bit of a conundrum as well. In my case, the client is not Rev, and it does indicate once a socket connection is made. However, Rev is acting as the server, and it seems hit or miss on determining if the client has disconnected.
I have not found any problems like that. I have a fair amount of socket code in (personal) use, with either or both the client and the server being in either Rev or python, so I have a mix of languages, and a mix of PC and Macs.

I know it's particularly hard to identify a problem case when it is intermittent (i.e. when it seems "hit or miss"), but if you have any specific case (or if it would be possible for me to look at or run the code, I'd be happy to try to help.
