Just to let everyone know, I got the artwork from the artist, plugged the images into Icon Composer, and all is well. :-) Thanks for all the suggestions.

Actually, the latest Icon Composer under Leopard has 512, 256, 128, 32, and
16 pixel sizes.

Chris, if you still have the problem after you check on the artwork, the other thing you can do is to check the 'info.plist' file in the bundle -
this is where the OS connects the app to the icon. Look for:

   <key>CFBundleTypeIconFile</key>

This should have a <string> after it that is the icon file that will be used for the app - make sure this is the same name as the actual icon file in
the Resources folder.
