Thanks Andre, I was hoping you'd answer. I am using the Standalone.app engine, from inside the bundle, and I do have the -ui flags set, and permissions are 755. That is why I am puzzled. That engine is not supposed to load the window server.

I can't use your other suggestions, as good as they are, because I want to distribute this script to others and I want it to "just work" without any special additions or software.

I wish I knew why your copy of the standalone engine works and mine doesn't, but I tried it with both 2.9 and 3.0 and they both fail when accessed with an http request.
