My response was too long for the list so I put a blog up while it's in moderation: http://goulding.ws/consulting/blog/ I think I have this sorted but we might all want to update our code that uses shell on windows to handle this situation gracefully. There's also some functions and commands in the revCommon library that rely on shell that probably need an update.
