Thanks Dar, unfortunately this problem the compiler complains the offending line is the 1st line in the script- which has no parenthesis and doesn't help if I retype it.
I get lots of error messages not just parentheses messages. I sometimes get first line complaints and sometimes get other line errors.
These might all be separate bugs, but they also might be the same bug.
