Hmmm. I guess I did a doubletake here. Can I do that by creating an 8-bit
black image by hand in picture editor of the space I want opaque, then
setting the maskData of the image I want using it?

If it will work, then how do I do it, i.e., define the maskData of my
finished image to the blackout area I create?
