I'd turn them both on if it wouldn't wreck havoc. I'm not a stickler for syntax, heck, I'm a Lingo guru, and that has minimal syntax (not a lot of "programming punctuation")... but *some* things need a few rules, otherwise debugging is a nightmare. The basics... string literals are quoted. Variables are not. Just the basics. RealBasic is too strict, Transcript is simply too loose. Lingo has it right, IMHO. They managed to take the same Xtalk origins, add dot syntax, and a few rules of basic syntax, and come out with a very effective and usable language. Unfortunately, due to their "shockwave safe" requirements, they also cripple the system level control that Rev offers... and some projects need that... and that's why I'm here.
