Sounds like the Klaus saved data solution is to treat a stack as a document and put it into the executable. Then spit it out and start to populate it. Looks like there really is no way to have the data stored directly in the executable. It's not the hypercard method but it does seem to be the standard way things are done so I'll adopt it.

On most computers there's no alternative: it isn't possible for an executable to write to itself on Windows or UNIX. Rev carries this through to Mac OS for consistency.
