You can set the mail to plain text on a per mail basis. Open your new
mail then:
Menu Format -> make plain text
or
Shift command t
or
Go to menu view -> customise toolbar, and add the "make plain text"
icon to the toolbar
Also many people are still on dialup, the limitation is quite fine in
my opinion.
