As far as windows/mac integration goes, Parallels and VMWare are equivalent (I know that VMWare supports better 3D rendering, however Parallels is bound to catch up). The best selling points for VMWare boil down to the years of experience in VM's that VMWare has, the more graceful integration with OS X (Launchd and background processes rather than background processes and system core modifications), and a few extra features that are nice beyond windows (Appliances, lighter footprint, integrates flawlessly with VM Player and other industry standard VMWare products).
