Another "trick" worth trying and works well with some letters and numbers (some require a boolean operation as a last step) is to make the outer nurbs a "Bold" font . Then just move the inner "regular" fonts up a little (maybe resize vertically if needed) and do an extrude . I tried it on "D-A-V-I-D" but it wouldn't do an "A" properly so I had to "boolean" /inner "A" extrusion . > I might manage using grid alignment if there's no easy option, though > Stefan's idea would be more versatile.
