Great work ! :) I can see that you were in a rush - but its always fun trying to get site terrain in.. ;) Jobs like that are frustrating as you want to produce a nice end result but timeframe enevitably gets in the way all the time.. Once its finished, its nice to be able to re-visit the job and tidy it up for portfolio's sake..

Exactly! Thanks for the advice ;)
A bit of extra CPU horsepower will help.

I didn't have time to finetune this, rush job... but RS handled this scene very well, render times were in the order of minutes rather than hours :)
I find Rendertimes to be really good. Even using AO (which I use all the time) typical screen resolution images are around 5-15mins a frame.

Yes: fast enough for animation!
I have some additional ideas about plants... the real-time outdoor natural scenes in certain recent games are pretty jaw-dropping (great trees swaying in the wind, moving grass...). Surely raytraced visuals should keep ahead of real-time! I'm sure there's much more potential in RS in this area than we've tapped so far... for example, where's the L-system based plant/fractal generator that's perfectly possible in JS? I should have learned JS from the start, my fault! Maybe it's not too late yet...

thanks & more to follow,
Mark
