Pastoral scene with ploughed fields and a dusty road?

Close up or far away?
Pebbles, rocks, trees, mixture of all three?
Waterfalls?
There is a picture next to me of hay bales in a field of cut wheat, and growing all over are clumps of green, then forest in te background. The terrain could be done with 3 polys.
It would be great to have general procedures and libraries.
